Volunteer Trail Host

The Wyoming State Trails Host program has been formed in partnership with the Forest Service, BLM, area ATV Clubs, and County Sheriff’s offices.

Due to the ever increasing registrations of ATV’s within the state, and increased usage on public trails, roads and routes; a peer program was developed; The Trail Host. Increasing concern on both sides of ATV recreation, pro and con, has brought this program to the sport.

ATV enthusiast are encourage to apply to a trail host position, read the reference guide, attend a one on one training session and are encouraged to be CPR and First Aid trained.

Volunteers are hosts and not law enforcement. Trail hosts should act as a team, consisting of two persons if possible. Both must wear the trail host vest, carry identification and conduct themselves in the best interest of the sport and the area they represent. They must continually promote safe and responsible use of ATV’s along with the protection of our natural resources.

Trail Hosts shall promote, educate and guide ATV recreational use while performing in an advisory capacity. Hosts will be asked to provide information and direction for trail users and notify authorities when trail rules and regulations are not followed. The lands a trail hosts will be protecting is all lands including county, township and residents designated for ATV riding.

Our Mission

TO SERVE
The citizens and communities of Wyoming along with the ATV recreational enthusiasts. ATV operators through education and personal contacts in respect for others and the environmental impact of the sport. The environment and public in all aspects of natural resource protection, safety, community development and education.

TO CHALLENGE
Each and every ATV operator to abide by ATV etiquette, use of common sense, knowledge of Wyoming ATV rules and regulations and, to be concerned for the environmental impact of the sport they chose and desire.

TO HOLD ACCOUNTABLE
The actions and practices of ATV operators on off trail operation, operating ATV’s inappropriately and destruction of property and natural resources.
